What is it about?
There is increasing evidence that premature cellular aging, or senescence, plays an important role in various degenerative diseases such as atherosclerosis and lung fibrosis. In this review article, we explored the potential role for senescence in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). This provides a new perspective on the mechanisms that contribute to this disease, and could pave the way for drugs that target senescence in the treatment of PAH.
