Why is it important?
The purpose of this study was to revise, from a taxonomic point of view, Ulva (only Enteromorpha-like taxa) herbarium materials that had been collected in the inland water ecosystems of Central Europe, dating back to the 1800s. The second goal of this paper was to test the effectiveness of a glycerine-based softening mixture (Rybak Solution) to facilitate anatomical analysis on herbarium specimens of macroalgae.
