What is it about?

COPD has a growing impact on society across all nations. There is also increasing research showing that there are many causes of COPD beyond smoking. Despite these facts, the majority of physicians do not dive into treatment plans that address other non-smoking causes.

Why is it important?

Understanding the causes of COPD is important to create an effective treatment plan. For some, this means recognizing the biases held towards COPD patients and the causes of the diseases.

Perspectives

To deliver holistic care we need to look at all parts of a patient journey this includes being mindful of the environmental concerns and predisposing factors of COPD.
