What is it about?
Antiretroviral therapy has improved survival in persons with HIV (PWH), but chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) still causes morbidity and mortality. We discovered a novel association of oral microbiome to lung function and to systemic inflammation in PWH, suggesting that the oral microbiome may contribute to COPD pathogenesis.
