Airway Pressure Release Ventilation in Pediatric Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. A Randomized Controlled Trial

What is it about?

Data on airway pressure release ventilation (APRV) in children with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) are limited to case reports and case series. We report the first randomized controlled trial evaluating this mode of ventilation in children and show a trend towards higher mortality in the APRV arm.
