What is it about?
The work examines the ways in which Anna Maria van Schurman, a Dutch intellectual and religious leader from the seventeenth century, has been portrayed in research literature . I argue that we as reserachers need to respect women's narratives - even when this narrative is at odds with our wish to find and glorify femist heroes in history.
