What is it about?
The aim of the study was to investigate the meaning of 'love' as a term of address in British English._x000D_ We analysed the 1994 and 2014 versions of the British National Corpus. It was found that people use 'love' less than before and that in addition to expressing friendliness it is increasingly also used to refer to people (male and female) in negative ways.
