What is it about?
Faith “deconstruction” is not something to be sought out, but even still we reasonably expect that young people will find themselves navigating “deconstruction” sentiments. A pastoral posture with such young people will aim at the development of hope. Examining what is true is of course helpful, but a key priority is to lead the deconstructing young person to rediscover Christian hope. Christian lament is a practice that aims at hope, which is relevant is suited to address some of the sorrow and confusion of faith deconstruction.
