What is it about?
The propagation of bogus hadiths within the Muslim community can no longer be ignored due to the advancement of modern technology. The Internet and social media give a platform for the unfettered transmission of any material, including weak and fake hadiths. The purpose of this study is to present a new narrative on fake hadiths and describe the varieties of "contemporary fake hadiths" that are prevalent in the community. All relevant documentary and video information is studied using inductive, deductive, and descriptive methods in order to provide a foundation for a discussion of modern fake hadith along with pertinent examples. According to the findings of the study, a modern fake hadith is a statement that claims to be related to the Prophet Muhammad SAW, whether the statement has a basis of evidence but is misunderstood or does not have a basis of evidence but is associated with the Prophet SAW. The types of modern fake hadith are: [1] testimony and claims of meeting the Prophet accompanied by an alibi. [2] Testimony and assertions from the hadith, but based on a misunderstanding of the hadith's or text's content, and, [3] False evidence
