Contributions to the Lichen flora of Turkey: New records from Eastern Anatolia (Van province)

What is it about?

We examined lichen flora of Van province in Turkey. Presence of great Van Lake promises enhanced diversity of lichens due to micro- and macroclimatic conditions rendered in the region by this big lake. In addition, lichen flora of Van has never been comprehensively examined before, although there are literature records from 20th century, which makes a comparison possible. _x000D_ We discovered 229 lichen taxa in the study area and 4 of them, Bibbya ruginosa, Buellia subalbula, Caloplaca tenuatula and Rimularia gibbosa, are new records for Turkey.
