Why is it important?

Legal translation is becoming increasingly important in our globalized world - for business, for institutions, and for individuals. An example of this was shown earlier this year in the United Nations Resolution on Professional Translation, adopted on 24 May 2017. From a UK perspective, Brexit is bound to accentuate legal translation needs in the immediate future. Although machine translation is progressing fast, the crucial nature of legal texts means that demand for high-level skills has never been greater.

Perspectives

Non-literary translation is often overlooked - in fact many people hardly realize that it is a profession. Together with a growing number of colleagues, I aim to bring the world's gaze onto this crucial activity.
