What is it about?
This attempt at Jungian interpretation of "Excalibur" is different from the model published in 1981. It clearly shows that in the decades since "Excalibur's" release in 1981, the Jungian interpretation focused on Boorman's vision of King Arthur's individuation has not circulated within the mainstream critical and analytical reception of "Excalibur." The interpretation focused on a bigger cultural complex turned out to be more accessible than the one focused on Arthur's quasi-therapeutic experience.
