What is it about?
This essay analyzes diplomacy between socially defined actors and aims to contribute to the conceptualization of social diplomacy. Since the social is essentially interconnectional, interactional and relational, I explore social diplomacy that can take place between purposive social entities such as individuals, groups, organizations, states and their aggregations by focusing on the ways of their engagement, interaction and relationship-building. Diplomacy has always been regarded as a certain mission, and social diplomacy can be considered as a goodwill mission, which involves constructive engagement and dialogical interaction between the parties to create a social good, most notable positive relationships. Thus, social diplomacy can contribute to the development of society.
