What is it about?
COVID-19 has led to a leadership crisis at the World Health Organization (WHO). China may rise to fill that void due to its efforts at using both soft and hard power to establish itself as a global leader in medical assistance and diplomacy. This article examines China's moves toward gaining control of WHO, as well as its domestic handling of COVID. We also examine the United States tendency toward isolationism and blaming the WHO and China for the pandemic.
