What is it about?
When do rituals become problematic? In early Christianity, rituals were both important and debated. When they "failed" their meaning became explicit. This paper analyzes a controversy about participation in (ritual) meals in 1st century BCE Corinth in Paul of Tarsus' first letter to the Christian community there.
