What is it about?

The article looks at the contemporary controversy surrounding the legal status of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in light of the historical debate surrounding the legal status of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. _x000D_ _x000D_ It concludes that poor enforcement of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples flows from the relationship among indigenous claims, indigenous advocacy and customary international law within the human rights discourse.
