Why is it important?

My findings demonstrate 1) that domestic politics matter in Brazil and India, even in highly technical areas such as trade law where existing literature suggests domestic pressure is unlikely; 2) why these states pursue liberal trade goals in the reform negotiations, despite having contrasting domestic interest overall; and 3) the importance of status gains to these governments even when such gains are unlikely to have much of an electoral impact.
