What is it about?
My goal in this article is to convince you that the methods of literary criticism can be applied to videogames, and that videogames can enrich literary criticism by encouraging critics to explicitly articulate what counts as worthwhile knowledge for us. I argue that certain videogames can open our minds to new points of view and make new answers to thorny social and political questions possible, and that this is what the most inspirational literature can also do. The specific game Horizon: Zero Dawn serves as a case study of a videogame that is unmissable for anyone interested in environmental humanities.
