What is it about?
This article is about how church pioneers in disadvantaged neighbourhoods in the Netherlands view their work. Why do they do this work? What is their most important message? And how do they try to take both their message and the people in the neighbourhood seriously?

Why is it important?
The researcher spent a long time as part of the communities set up by the pioneers, which gave her insight into their way of thinking and their worldview. It inspired her to discover how the pioneers led their communities and what other (religious) leaders can learn from them.
Perspectives
I hope this article will encourage more bottom-up thinking about soteriology.
