What is it about?

Online platforms like zoom both connect and separate us. I have mapped some elements of that connection and separation by looking at how a simple shared movement exercise impacts groups, and following that impact through three neuroscientific theories about connection.

Why is it important?

The findings shed light on loneliness and belonging in the post-covid hand-held digital age. They recuperate a whole person perspective that underlines how different ways of knowing mobilize our social relations.

Perspectives

Born out of wide-spread isolation during the covid pandemic, this work reflects a curiosity about what we feel when we feel connected to others. This becomes interesting when we take into account both the risk and value of connection, as well as how online platforms can be used to foster wellness healing.
