What is it about?
This article examines how some Scottish secondary teachers feel about dealing with their pupils' mental health. It explores the important relationship they have with pupils and asks if they have enough training, knowledge and confidence to help their pupils.

Why is it important?
Mental health issues among young people have been increasing, especially in the light of the Covid pandemic. Teachers are often those in whom young people confide. It is important to consider how teachers feel about this and whether they feel equipped to handle this responsibility.
