The article explores the Notable Japanese Collections in North America (NJC) Dashboard (https://bit.ly/NJCDashboard), a digital collection discovery tool and database that identifies and promotes distinctive Japanese Studies collections across North America.

Why is it important?

Although far from complete, the NJC dashboard has amassed 250 print and digital collections and already provides the most extensive list of print and digitized notable Japanese collections in the United States and Canada.

Perspectives

In the latter half of the article, my co-authors and I were excited to shine a spotlight on some of the fascinating holdings that are listed in the NJC Dashboard, spanning the premodern to modern and contemporary periods. Some excellent images from these collections are featured in this article, too!
