What is it about?
This article is a summary of my PhD, which focuses on exploring the post-return experiences of Cameroonian migrants by zooming into how community expectations and the structural context of the country influence their reintegration processes.

Why is it important?
This study illustrates that (return)migration is interpreted differently across different parts of the world. In terms of reintegration after return, this study reveals that return is not a straightforward process, as many factors are at play. Returned migrants are confronted with challenges at the micro-levels ( expectations at the family and community level) and structural levels ( labour market integration, institutional challenges in creating businesses and political instability).
