What is it about?

This article examines the 'historiography' of international criminal justice, namely the concepts and processes that are used to develop historical narratives for the benefit of current and future generations.

Why is it important?

This study outlines some of the advantages of international criminal law in developing narratives. However, it also notes the constraints in which international criminal justice operates. Over and above jurisdictional challenges, and substantive and evidentiary requirements, lawyers and judges have to work within time and resource constraints that impacts on trial strategy, as well as case and court management.
