Psycho-social impacts of COVID-19 are an important research and practice area which provide invaluable knowledge for effective programming towards mitigating the spread and containment of the pandemic.

Why is it important?
There has continued to be a strong bias among research communities to explore clinical outcomes of COVID-19 without corresponding interest to understand its social, economic and psychological implications. A per-occupation with medical aspects of the pandemic without understanding its social footprint carry the potential of sacrificing human livelihoods and well-being on the alter of preventing and developing cures and/or vaccines.
