What is it about?

A total of 70 implant fixtures were placed in fresh sockets of maxillary molar and premolar area. Before placement, sites were prepared through an electrical mallet, including bone expansion and sinus floor elevation. Follow up intra-oral x-rays were taken at 70 days, 1 year and 2 years for peri-implant bone evaluation

Why is it important?

Dental implants survival rate was 98,57% at 2 years. Definitive alveolar bone gain was stable at mean value of 4 ,08 mm. The electrical mallet confirmed to be a safe and predictable medical device for implant dentistry

Perspectives

I personally recommend my colleagues to consider the electrical mallet as a suitable instrument in oral surgery
