What is it about?

Skin cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed forms of cancer, with two in three Australians being diagnosed before the age of 70. This study explored how Australian Twitter users use social media to share their experiences of sunburn, finding people often present their sunburn in a positive or humorous light.

The results of this study suggest more sun-safety education is required, and further research is needed to explore a possible link between Australian national identify and the expectation of sunburn.
