What is it about?
Eleongational viscous behavior of some polymers has been studied in terms of free volumes such as voids and vacancies in the polymers as defects.

Why is it important?
In various manufacturing processes such as film blowing, fiber spinning, film casting, etc., elongational viscosity gives more accurate knowledge for polymer processibility. An important attempt to reveal the underlying mechanisms behind these applications is modeling. So we propose such a model to interpret the behavior of elengotional viscosity. Second we focused on the effect of hole fraction (free volume fraction) on elongational flow. The dependence of elongational viscosity on hole fraction is analyzed in terms of the linear equations derived from the YDT (Yahsi-Dinc-Tav) model at the zero level of elongational rate, constant elongational-rate and constant elongational-stress.
