Why is it important?

Aging has been shown to be accompanied by loss of physical capacity, however, little has been studied what happens when athletes continue to have a regular practice. Martial arts practitioners, particularly Karate, are a good example of sports whose practitioners continue their lifelong practice, and these are known to be the technical reference of the sport. Hence, some questions arise: Do these practitioners also lose their abilities or, on the contrary, maintain good levels of performance?

Perspectives

This study has provided more information about what happens to practitioners who continue to perform regular sports with a focus on performance.
