What is it about?
Reducing postharvest losses effectively rest on farmers' practices along the chain. The study begins the study with farmers and tries to study the characteristics of farmers who manage postharvest losses well. The study discovers that farmers who are more concerned with securing food for the year do well in managing postharvest losses.

Why is it important?
The impact of postharvest losses on food security has been well recognized globally as needing attention. Several studies have emphasized that an important way to increase food availability is to reduce postharvest losses. Our study shows that in an attempt to reduce postharvest losses, the human element is a critical factor. Adequate training and the right policy incentives will motivate farmers and other actors in the food chain to manage postharvest losses effectively.
