What is it about?
In the present study authors report, for the first time, the identification of spontaneously differentiating myogenic precursors in the pancreas and in other muscle-devoid organs of the adult mouse. Myogenic cells from nonmuscle organs are morphologically and functionally indistinguishable from skeletal muscle-derived primary myoblasts and are able to participate to muscle regeneration in vivo.
