What is it about?
X-ray free electron lasers (xfels) have inspired new approaches in x-ray-based structural biology. Among these are the realization that structural biology with room temperature micron size crystals should be feasible at high-brightness storage ring x-ray sources. The sweet spot for xfels will be ultra-fast time resolved studies.
