What is it about?

We explored children's nature play and how this relates to computational thinking. Our study focused on young children enrolled in a childcare (early learning) setting in Australia.

Why is it important?

Our study connects to two important aspects of children's lives and learning: how they play and how they demonstrate computational thinking. Our findings indicate that computational thinking is apparent when children engage in outdoor nature play. We recommend that research in the human-computer interaction space could undertake design to further enhance children's computational thinking skills in outdoor play settings.
