What is it about?
We all love staying connected with friends and family through messaging apps. But have you ever found it inconvenient to text while you’re busy with something else — like cooking or exercising? Enter GlassMessaging, a new application designed for Smart Glasses (a.k.a. Optical See-Through Head-Mounted Displays).

Why is it important?
Traditional messaging apps are designed for smartphones, which require our hands to type and our eyes to read. The researchers found that this design becomes a problem when we are engaged in activities that demand our physical attention. GlassMessaging seeks to solve this problem by freeing up our hands and eyes while we communicate digitally. GlassMessaging is designed for Augmented Reality Smart Glasses — think of something like Google Glass. It allows you to send messages using voice commands, a small ring mouse, or gestures, meaning you can keep your hands free for other tasks.
