What is it about?
BLEselect enables the selection of a Bluetooth device by nodding at, pointing at, or drawing a circle around it, just like how people acknowledge each other. The head and hand gestures are recognized by analyzing wireless signals received by a compact antenna array deployed on a pair of smart glasses.

Why is it important?
Instead of using cameras, BLEselect uses wireless signals to detect gestures, which greatly mitigates privacy concerns. The system is compatible with existing Bluetooth devices so no major changes in infrastructure are necessary. The sensor fits onto a pair of smart glasses, which shows great potential to be combined with augmented reality technologies.
