What is it about?

This article highlights the importance of appropriate trust calibration in Human-Conversational Agent interactions. We propose four design suggestions which are illustrated through conversational examples in order to promote user agency, oversight and control.

Why is it important?

As Conversational Agents are becoming more proactive and start to provide a gateway for purchasing products and services online, the question of trust and its impact on users’ reliance and agency becomes ever-more pertinent.
