What is it about?
This paper looks at ways to detect the cybersickness that many VR users experience. We conduct experimental trials to investigate the use of subjective and objective measures that are less intrusive than standard longer questionnaires. Biometric measures such as the Heart Rate Variability (HRV) can compete with subjective protocols, especially for detecting cybersickness symptoms at an individual level.

Why is it important?
Cybersickness negatively affects the user experience and limits the applicability of virtual environments in many domains (e.g., in medical diagnosis or e-learning). Developing less intrusive measures for preventing it may help these technologies reach a wider audience.
