What is it about?

Technology is becoming more and more part of people's lives. Sometimes it's being used for good purposes, but sometimes it's being used for bad purposes, we need the people who are creating the next generation of technology to think about how their systems will be used.

Why is it important?

Making students aware of the ethical issues associated with technology will lead them to consider the consequences of what they will be working on, and hopefully add safeguards into their systems to stop people using them for bad purposes.

Perspectives

For me personally, the fact that some technologies discriminate against already marginalized groups is the most serious problem that must be addressed immediately.
