Why is it important?

Playful visualisations may help in building closer relationships between us and our understanding of the gut processes. This in turn can enable people to make gut-friendly decisions with respect to diet, environment and lifestyle factors that influence the quality of their health and well-being. Particularly, people can bring their attention to the microscopic interactions and the real-world scenarios that shape their experiences, which they can learn through tangible playful visualisations supported by the game components.

Perspectives

This article was produced by a multidisciplinary team spanning across the disciplines of Interaction & Game design; Nutrition & Dietetics; Product Design & Sociology. I hope this article invites people to imagine more creative ways of depicting science information so as to make it relatable and approachable to the larger population.
