What is it about?

One of the main challenges these days is on how different components of a computer communicate. Silicon photonics provide a good solution for that, but routing the messages using this technology can be challenging. This paper provides a low latency approach for routing messages using silicon photonics.

Why is it important?

While silicon photonics provide great bandwidth and throughput, they are still limited by time consuming routing algorithms. Our solution tackles that issue reducing the time needed to route a message.

Perspectives

I hope this article makes people realize the challenge it is to deploy solutions when using different technologies. Network routing on its own attains great results when routing messages. Silicon photonics on its own is more than capable of handling high loads of traffic. But, when routing messages on silicon photonics, solutions are not evident. This paper showcases that by presenting an optimized routing control.
