This is the introduction to a meeting in which we discussed how to apply recommender systems in the field of Tourism.

Why is it important?
With the huge variety of activities available to visitors in any destination, it is important to have tools to discover automatically the preferences of the visitors and recommend to them the activities that fit best with their interests.
Perspectives
It was the first instance of a series workshops on Tourism recommender systems, which I organised jointly with Laura Sebastiá and Pieter Vansteenwegen.
