What is it about?
Traffic Engineering is the process by which a computer network adapts itself to the traffic being routed in it. In this paper, we show that it is possible to drastically speed up this process compared to the current practice. We use both operational insights and techniques from optimization theory to achieve this.

Why is it important?
It proposes a framework that can drastically enhance how internet provider networks adapt to changes in traffic. This allows operators to improve network utilization, lower costs and enhance users' experience.
Perspectives
Working on this paper was a lot of fun and I had the pleasure of working with two new wonderful collaborators. I think there is still quite a bit of work to be done on extending it and some ideas from it can probably be transferred to other domains.
