What is it about?

KiT-RT is a modular and easy to use software suite to compare different simulation methods for radiation transport. We compare numerical methods for radiation transport and benchmark against exisiting software packages. The software is open source

Why is it important?

We provide a unique software framework to compare discretization methods for radiation transport. KiT-RT makes it easy to use the same space and time discretizations and swap velocity/directional discretizations. Further the software is easily extenable and well suited for uncertainty quantification tasks.

Perspectives

We hope this article gives a good starting point for new users of the software package. We provide a high level description of the package for user-developers and in detail mathematical descriptions for the numerical methods.
