What is it about?

How confident can we use the Meta Quest Pro for eye-tracking VR? We presented a user test to assess the spatial accuracy and precision of Meta Quest Pro's eye tracker. We also provided suggestions for designing eye-tracking VR experiences based on the results.

Why is it important?

The Meta Quest Pro features an integrated eye tracker, enabling real-time capture of eye-tracking data for an optimized VR experience. However, there is currently no publicly available information regarding its eye-tracking accuracy. Our test, therefore, offers one of the earliest empirical results to assist researchers in designing virtual scenarios that can generate reliable eye-tracking data.

Perspectives

The idea of doing this test came from the challenges due to the limited information on Quest Pro's eye-tracker specification while designing my own eye-tracking VR experiment. We hope this test will help future study designs for eye-tracking VR and encourage the manufacturer to provide better information transparency.
