What is it about?
Recent research showed that deep learning can be useful in mobile communication systems (the ones which connect smartphones). It can improve connection reliability and increase the amount of data that can be transferred in a given time. However, these deep learning methods take a large number of computations. The work presents a computer chip implementation that specifically targets to compute these kinds of neural networks in time. It is a step towards making deep learning useful in real communication systems.
