What is it about?
Example of extreme debris flow events, with the volume as the principal descriptor of their magnitude, may present in a given catchment different statistical behaviour. Continuous field observations (mainly importance of the bed erosion) show that extreme events are related to processes not visible most of the time. This processes are implemented in a simple "volume at the outlet" model.
