What is it about?

Both governance of preferred behaviour of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and governance of network connections can enable innovation. Hitherto it has been anticipated that network connections was important for innovation. The impact of preferred behaviour of SMEs has been neglected. This quantitative Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) study shows the impact on both.

Why is it important?

Preferred behaviour of SMEs has a positive impact on product innovation, process innovation and systematic innovation. Hereby a considerable impact on innovation can be derived from the preferred behaviour of SMEs.

Perspectives

The understanding of a combined impact of both preferred behaviour of SMEs and their network connections provide a much larger potential for governance and organising activities to pursue innovation
