Discussion of The Impact of CIHR Reforms on the Funding of Nutritional Sciences in Canada

What is it about?

This letter to the editor summarizes efforts of the Canadian Nutrition Society to assess the impact of CIHR Project and Foundation Scheme competitions on the funding of nutrition research in Canada. The surveys conducted by the Canadian Nutrition Society to its members reveal a marked reduction in funding success in these new schemes. Key recommendations are made and also an appeal to the nutrition community to lend their expertise should they be called upon to review nutrition grants in the future.
