What is it about?
In people with type 1 diabetes, islet transplantation can prevent dangerous lows from occurring by allowing their bodies to produce insulin in response to glucose levels. However, a small number of studies in humans that induced low blood glucose, and exercise studies in animals, suggest that the regulation of glucose is greatly improved yet still imperfect in this population. As a result, responses to an exercise challenge in this population may still be impaired.
