What is it about?
Airway inflammation increases after a single high-fat meal. However, physical activity is a natural anti-inflammatory, and an acute bout of exercise after consuming a high-fat meal may modify airway inflammation. Yet the modification of airway inflammation post-prandially may depend on chronic physical activity level. Our findings suggest that chronic physical activity does not modify the post-prandial airway inflammatory response. However, an acute bout of postprandial exercise increases airway inflammation in both active and insufficiently active subjects.
